Program Rules and Regulations
Eligibility
The Lift Beauty Accelerator program is open to beauty brand founders from underrepresented backgrounds, like those who identify as people of color. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally permitted to work in the US where the program is being conducted.
Employees, representatives, and immediate family members of Rare Beauty Brands, any program sponsors, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, and promotion agencies are not eligible to participate.
Application Process
All applications must be submitted through the official Lift Beauty Accelerator application form by the stated deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Rare Beauty reserves the right to request additional information or documentation from applicants as part of the evaluation process.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on various factors, including but not limited to the uniqueness and market potential of the brand, the founder’s vision and passion, commitment to diversity and inclusion, growth potential, and the quality of the materials submitted in the application. The selection committee’s decision is final and binding.
Background Checks
By participating in the Lift Beauty Accelerator program, applicants agree to undergo background checks as deemed necessary by Rare Beauty Brands. These checks may include, but are not limited to, criminal history, credit, and reference checks. Rare Beauty Brands reserves the right to disqualify any applicant based on the results of these background checks. Rare Beauty Brands reserves the right to disqualify participants at any time if false information is submitted, even after the final selection.
Program Participation
Selected participants must commit to attending all required program sessions, workshops, and events. Failure to meet the attendance requirements or comply with program guidelines may result in dismissal from the program.
Intellectual Property
Participants retain ownership of their intellectual property, including but not limited to trademarks, copyrights, and patents. However, by participating in the program, participants grant Rare Beauty a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use their brand name, logo, and product images for promotional purposes related to the Lift Beauty Accelerator program.
Confidentiality
Participants agree to maintain strict confidentiality regarding any proprietary information, trade secrets, or other sensitive data shared during the program. Violation of this confidentiality agreement may result in legal action.
Disclaimer
Rare Beauty Brands reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Lift Beauty Accelerator program at any time and for any reason. Participants acknowledge that Rare Beauty and its affiliates are not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from participation in the program.
By submitting an application, applicants agree to abide by these rules and regulations, as well as any additional terms and conditions provided by Rare Beauty Brands.
Program Criteria
A panel of industry experts and representatives from Rare Beauty Brands and JCPenney will carefully evaluate each application based on several criteria, including:
- Business Concept and Product: Applicants will be assessed on the uniqueness, innovation, and market potential of their beauty brand and product offerings.
- Founder’s Vision and Passion: The judging panel will consider the founder’s passion, drive, and commitment to building a successful and impactful beauty brand.
- Diversity and Inclusion: In line with the program’s mission, preference will be given to founders from underrepresented backgrounds, like those who identify as people of color, and bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the beauty industry.
- Growth Potential: The judging panel will evaluate the scalability and potential for growth of each applicant’s business model and product line.
The selection process aims to identify the most promising and innovative beauty brands led by passionate and dedicated founders who align with the program’s values and objectives.
